Dawn Weber & Electro Funk Assembly

World class trumpet player. Prolific songwriter. Stylish vocalist. Mesmerizing, high-energy stage presence. Add it up and you are given one, and only one person– Dawn Weber. But that's just a basic overview of what the multi-talented, eclectic Dawn Weber brings to every performance. The St. Louis-based artist has a background that includes extensive training in both classical trumpet and flugelhorn. But Dawn's talent and personality really shine in other styles of her music– ranging from jazz, rock, R&B swing and salsa to hip-hop, electronic and funk styles. Dawn starred in the groups Vargas Swing, Urban Jazz Naturals and Mo and Dawn (The Remix Project) and is now leading her own bands.

The larger version of Dawn's Electro Funk Assembly brings it with an explosive, high-energy show! The full EFA group features a live drummer, bassist, keyboard player and guitarist supporting Dawn's vocals and trumpet -- fused with an electronic blend bubbling under. You'll hear original music blending house music, funk, hip-hop, and electronica elements that will make you get down and move your body! You'll have a blast!

The smaller, three-piece EFA Lounge band offers a more sophisticated approach adding classic hits– performed in Dawn's unique style – to the musical mix. Dawn's EFA trio creates a high-energy blend of jazz, Latin, and funk grooves with electronic elements to create great dance music that flows non-stop!

Dizzy Atmosphere

Here's a heartfelt testimonial from jazz icon Jean Kittrell, describing Dizzy's show at the Sheldon in 2013: "How proud of you I was last night. It was my first time to hear Dizzy Atmosphere, and what a delight it was. Chris, you are a fine MC and an incredible violinist. Your guitarist is terrific, and your bass player gives you two excellent harmonic support and swinging rhythm. He plays the part of piano, banjo, drums, with ease as your solid bassist."

Jon Ferber has been one of St. Louis most prominent proponents of swing, especially adept at interpreting and channeling the guitar stylings of Django Reinhardt. He has performed and recorded with Swing Set, the Orbits, the Lettuce Heads, the Erin Bode Trio and the Western Satellites.

Christopher Voelker has performed as a featured guest with Coco Rico, Fleur_De_Lou, Gene Lynn, and Swing Set, and has contributed to recent CD's by Building Rome, Michelle Isam and Elliot Ranney. He has played viola with the Diamond String Quartet and with orchestras in Boston, San Antonio, Kansas City and St. Louis. Earthy and swinging, his violin lends an air of casual elegance to this trio's sound.

Richard Tralles has performed and recorded with Miss Jubilee & the Humdingers, Swing Set and Diesel Island as bassist, vocalist and songwriter. His swinging sensibilities, percussive solos and soulful singing have added a lot to Dizzy's harmonic and rhythmic substance.

Collectively influenced by an range of American (Joe Venuti & Eddie Lang, Stuff Smith), European (Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli) and Latin (Antonio Carlos Jobim, Xavier Cugat) recording artists, Dizzy Atmospere demonstrates an enormous variety of repertoire, equally adept at playing America's greatest standards, vocally and instrumentally, interpreting the understated charm of Brazilian composer Jobim, or presenting the dazzling dance rhythms of Xavier Cugat.

Dizzy Atmosphere has performed at the Missouri History Museum, the St Louis Art Museum, the Festival of Nations, Laumeier Art Fair, the Shaw Art Fair, the Whitaker Music Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden, and at the Sheldon Concert Hall, portions of which have been broadcast by HEC-TV.

Fine to Drive

Fine to Drive

Fine to Drive is an original Americana band residing in St. Louis, Missouri. Capturing the nature of traditional Americana they effortlessly blend country, folk and blues to create a fresh and yet comforting sound in their roots-driven music.

Their first full-length album What Whiskey Did,  written and performed by the duo, along with their supporting band of outstanding musicians, was released February 2018.  As versatile and energetic as they are true to the classic spirit of country music, Fine to Drive’s first album proves they are an undeniable powerhouse thanks to their distinct and dynamic male and female vocal harmonies, unique sound and authentic songwriting. The album starts off with just the right amount of twang and lyrical sass in the song “Everything but Love,” a playful take on the American dream and picturesque suburban life with that clap-your-hands and stomp-your-feet feel that invites you to the dance floor. Their wonderfully phrased two-part harmonies shine in the ballads “I Can’t Count on You” and “Wreck My Life” making you want to sing-along to every heartbroken verse and chorus. The title track “What Whiskey Did” is a bourbon soaked alibi highlighting the Dobro blues guitar sound that slides its way in and out of the entire album. “Nothing to Lose” stands out as the feel good song of the album making you want to hop in the nearest convertible and head for Mexico. As a whole What Whiskey Did is genuine, balanced, strong and goes down smooth just like the drink it’s named for.

The band began as an acoustic duo, founded by Michael Eisenbeis and Suzy Bacino. Michael is a well-respected veteran of the St. Louis music scene, founding the regional touring punk group The Nukes in the early 1990’s, as well as playing guitar and singing in a diverse mix of projects ranging from rock and roll to bluegrass. Suzy co-founded St. Louis Magazine’s A-List band Whiskey Morning in 2013, and has continued to sing and write music for various projects, including the 2016 release of Whiskey Morning’s album, The Here & Now.  After discovering they both have cats named after Loretta Lynn, the most awarded female country recording artist with a career spanning over six decades, Bacino and Eisenbeis knew they were destined to make music together. The harmonistic duo went on to form Fine to Drive and shortly thereafter, expanded the group to include heavy hitters: Bob Breidenbach on dobro, pedal and lap steel; Adam White on drums and percussion; and Quinten Coe on the upright bass.
