Mark Sweeney

Mark Sweeney

Mark is the oldest of six children and learned early that funny gets attention. His first suspension came in kindergarten when he threw a robin's egg at a classmate; thus started the "look at me" syndrome. Most of his grade school years were spent sitting in the hall, alone, perfecting and weaving his craft to an imaginary crowd.

After high school, Mark joined the Marines and spent four years exploring the globe with unbridled enthusiasm. He graduated from college and embarked on a series of jobs that never completely satisfied. Waiter, bartender, construction worker, sprinkler fitter, maintenance man, security guard, copier repairman, airport shuttle driver, traffic school instructor, courier, realtor and actor.

After one open mic, he quit his job to become a comedian and finally became the funniest guy in his price range. He spent six years in L.A. and did episodes of Boston Public, The Visitor and Days of Our Lives. He's been featured in several moving picture shows like Klllshot, Running Mates and Saving Grace P. Jones. He's also an accomplished author.

His autobiography "Court Jester: The making of a comedian" is the story of his rise and struggles all the way to the lower middle class. It has reached #6,542 on the best seller list and is moving up like a rocket. From the plains of the midwest to the hills of Kyrgyzstan to the sandstorms of Iraq to the mountains of Afghanistan, the boy has been around spreading his brand of love where ever he goes.
