Younger Than Yesterday

From the signature 12-string jangly guitar sound to the beginnings of psychedelic and folk-rock, The Byrds are not only a legendary band but a movement that continues to this day.

Younger Than Yesterday is the band at the center of that movement.

Terry Jones Rogers could harmonize before he could read. He wrote songs, he played in bands and came to Nashville as a young man seeking his fortune. When The Byrds reformed in 1988, Terry Jones Rogers was selected to front the group and has taken various incarnations of the band on tours around the world ever since.

Terry met guitar and harmonic impresario Scott Nienhaus and asked him to join up in the early 90’s along with drummer Tim Politte. Michael Curtis, bass player extraordinaire, who had been in and around The Byrds, Crazy Horse and The Curtis Brothers joined up a short time later - the line-up was complete and Younger Than Yesterday have been at the forefront of The Byrds continued sound ever since.

This show celebrates all the classic hits like Turn, Turn, Turn, 8 Miles High, Mr. Tamborine Man, So you want to be a Rock and Roll Star, Southern Cross, Chimes and Freedom and so much more.  The band also plays songs from the era as well as originals they’ve all written.
